Temple Ruins

Once you're used to the gloom pick up the medikit in the hollow tree and push forward. Once the two cobras are out of the way, check the river. There's an underwater opening, but piranhas are on the prowl.

In the corner of the small area is a switch which let's you bypass the water. Follow the underground passage to the left, picking up a medikit on the way. Back at the river swim round to the forest and climb out. Return to the passage and this time head right and be wary of a cobra around a blind corner.

Slaughter the monkey family and emerge near another section of river. Claim the ammo, and notice the central platform. Run and jump and grab from the roots of the tree, and you can catch the edge of the platform. Pick up the medikit and run and jump to the distant walkway via the underwater pillars.

Throwing the switch at the end of the walkway opens an underwater passage between the pillars. Jump into the water so that you sink quickly. Follow the underwater passage, and you surface in a large area near a mud-slide. Kill the pesky monkeys and make your way to the mud-slide. You can climb the block at the far side and haul yourself onto the wall to pick up some Uzi ammo.

Cross the mud-slide where you can see a path and make a couple of jumps to the walls.  Take out some more monkeys and follow the walls round to a tunnel opening. Before going on make a tricky running jump to the wall next to the forest canopy to find some Uzi clips. You'll now have to climb the mud-slide again!

This time you can go down the tunnel, killing another monkey and picking up a save crystal. In the trees to your left you'll find some Flares - jump across to the tree branch and make a couple more jumps to go around the tree. Don't fall as you are above the starting area and can't get back.

Once you've pilfered the tree tops, continue toward the waterfall, running and jumping and grabbing onto the white platform and then to the small medikit near the tree.

Jump through the left fall and follow the passage to the slope.  Slide backward, grab and shimmy across the falls. After disposing of the monkey, crawl into the crack on the extreme left-hand side.  There's a snake waiting in the darkness just through the opening.

Follow the tunnels, wary of another cobra at a blind turn to the right. Slide down the run near the right-hand wall to avoid the boulder, and you'll enter the temple.

Pick up the shells and push a moveable block aside to discover a crawl-space. Go through and you come into a chamber with a Save Crystal on a ledge. There is also a monster Kali. Climb the ledge to safety. From the ledge where the crystal sits, shoot at the Kali. If you hop down off the ledge and back up again, it'll drop its guard.

Throw the two switches at either end of the ledge to open a door at ground level. The other door is opened by a switch in the small hole in front of it but make sure you stand on the raised block before dropping in.

When you throw the single switch, turn to the right and push the wall to find Secret #1. Crawl beneath the dart traps, and don't go in the hole. Pick up the ammo and medikit.

Return to the Kali room and go through the door opened by the single switch. Beware as the tunnel turns to mud. Unless you run and jump from the edge of the solid floor, and begin slogging immediately down the hallway, you'll sink down and take a tiny bit of damage before re-surfacing.

Doubling back above the mud filled hall run and jump to grab the ledge. You'll find a monkey to kill, a switch to throw and a medikit to pick up. Flicking the switch opens a timed gate. Through the gate is a spiked wall and scissors, followed by another spiked wall.

Dash through and if you survive heal yourself and take it out on the innocent monkeys.

With the monkeys gone locate a moveable block and pull and push it to the corner of the floor-space next to the cage lattice. Climb up onto a high ledge and run round it to locate a rock chimney in the roof (light a flare for best results).

Jump and grab the rock ladder and climb up to Secret #2 - shells, Uzi ammo and a switch.

Throw the switch to get a vision of secret #3. Lower Lara back down the ladder as far as she'll go, and drop to the floor from the secret area. You'll take a small bit of damage.  Return to the moveable block and locate a switch on one of the central pillars.

It opens a high door that is easily reached by pushing the block across the floor. Drop into the pool and throw the switch. Get a good breath before going through the underwater door.

Swim down the underwater passage, and turn right as it widens. Swim to the switch on the wall, pull it and roll. Swim straight to the other end of the chamber, and you'll find another switch to pull.

Once you've pulled both underwater switches in the large area, double back down the passage you came from, and look for an opening in the ceiling about halfway down. You will surface in a huge chamber. The pool here has several underwater switches.

The switch on the steps side opens a timed gate across the pool with Secret #3 a large medikit.  The other switches in the pool cause the statues to billow fire, revealing translucent platforms.

Turn off the statues, and use a flare as your guide. Jump and grab the platform from the side where you find the Save Crystal. From the translucent platform, jump to the ledge and throw the switch. Quickly jump left, then turn and step off the edge of the ledge, leaning to the right to catch the ground below. Sprint through the timed door.

The next bit is tricky! Light a flare and locate the spike wall and switch to the right. To the left - a long way away - is a Ganesha key. When you throw the switch, turn immediately to the left, and sprint down the wide hallway. Pick up the key, roll and get your legs moving to the door you came in at.

You should just make it before the spike wall cuts you off (and up). When the spike wall has passed, re-enter the chamber and pick up a medikit and MP5 ammo from the far right.  Return to the pool room.

Don't dive into the pool - in your absence there's been a huge mud slide. Wade through the mud, sticking to the sides of the chamber to avoid falling debris.

Follow the mud-slide up the hill, leaping over two sets of slopes to a hallway with a nasty boulder trap. Get the Flares from the nook to the left, then stand on the first step and roll to trigger the trap.

Light the left turn with a flare to aid your escape. Past the boulder, the hallway divides. Choose the right-hand path. The left-hand path is a much tougher challenge!

Continue down the hallway killing a monkey and flicking a switch to open the next gate. Kill two more monkeys, one of which drops a medikit and claim another Save Crystal from the room at the top.

Continue left through the wide passage and climb down the rock chimney at the end to drop back into the room with the Ganesha Keys door. Through the door to the left of the huge gates is a block which you climb over to find two monkeys. Kill them and scout around the next room before leaving it through the entrance to a pool room with fire breathing statues.

Swim across the pool with the flaming statues. Pull up at the far end while the flames are in full-force, and they'll wane as you emerge. Throw the switch and back flip to the pool as things heat up again. The switch opened a door below.

Swim through and stick to the lower right-hand corner of the underwater passage to avoid poison darts. Hug the right-hand wall very tightly in the chamber beyond because the roof is falling in.

Climb out onto the ledge with the small medikit and survey the room.

Cross the pool and climb out. There's a rock ladder here and you'll have to back flip from the top of it onto a platform. Make a long 45 degree jump to the next, a small jump across the gap and then a jump and grab to the next rock climb. The next jump is tricky as it's not quite a full run and jump.

Before trying it look at the jump beyond that and notice a slumbering cobra. Before making the cobra jump arm yourself with the shotgun and fire when Lara aims. Two more small jumps take you to the doorway.

You'll probably want to immediately jump backwards and grab the edge of the chasm to avoid a boulder trap, but some have managed to dash round the corner into the room. With the boulder gone crawl beneath the darts and blades to the edge of the pit. Pick up a small medikit to the left and then head right and drop over the ledge, grabbing the edge.

At the very left corner let go and walk through the spikes to a crawl-space. Crawl through and through a second crawl way further on where there is a cobra. Welcome to Secret #4, a save crystal, DE shells and Uzi clips. The hole in the wall leads to the pool where you started the long climb - but remember the poison darts!

Back at the top of the climb, beyond the dart traps and blades you can jump and grab the distant ledge. Pick up the save crystal and locate the moveable block to the right. Push it in and then turn right and push the next as far as it will go. You have now created a hallway with several moveable blocks along the right hand wall.

Rearrange these until you locate a switch. Flicking this switch floods the dry pool you passed earlier. Catch your breath and choose your route back.

You can either return to the top of the long climb and retrace your steps to the bottom, run through secret #4 again or continue on like a true adventurer. If you continue on you need to outrun a boulder trap down a steep slope. It's best if you roll forward into a gap in the floor, grabbing the edge as the boulder sails over head.

Climb back out and leap over the gap. Now jump down the right hand side of the next gap into the pool. If you think it's safer to go down the left hand side drop a flare first.

Swim out through the tunnel into the fire breather’s pool and return to the room you just flooded. Dive into the pool and pull the lever to open the gate. After retrieving the second Ganesha Key, you can return to the Kali room and apply them to the locks on either side of the huge portal. The trap beyond is deadly, so prepare yourself.

Run and jump across the pit beyond the Ganesha Keys door, and immediately begin to climb the ladder as the spiked ceiling falls.  As long as you don't slip up, you should have just enough time to make the ledge above. Roll, and watch out for the monkeys, especially if you get nicked.

In the room with the monkeys and the Save Crystal, you'll have to pull out a block to the right of the entrance, and run and jump from atop it to reach a ledge with two switches.

Pull them both and return to the floor. Run across the doorway (not through!) to trigger a boulder trap and then enter.  Drop into the small pit and then climb out. In the hallway, use the sprint to get past one of the flaming statues. There are two Kali in the next room.

Use the high ledge to help plink away at them. If you back off the ledge and grab it, then pull back up, the monsters will drop their guard.

When the Kalis finally succumb, take a Scimitar from each and place them in the empty hands of the statue on the ledge (you may need to try both - they're obviously not a matching pair!).

The door opposite opens. Before going through pick up the small medikit from the pool under the statue and the shells from the pillar opposite.  Now go through the door and down the passage. When the passage turns into a crawl-space continue but go backwards over the drop as it's high and you need to hang-drop.

Climb up the wide staircase into the Boss Kali room. Luckily it won't wake up if you avoid the central platform. Have a good look around this room, noticing the corpses, the hole and the gates and then go round and look into the next room.  Here there's three keyholes, a water filled pit and a save crystal.

At least the last is safe to take!

The boss Kali is actually easy enough to take care of. Activate it by climbing the platform and then loose off a couple of shotgun blasts before jumping into the hole. From here blast it at your leisure, climbing out if it goes all defensive on you. Pick up the key from under the central corpse and the flares from under the one by the wall.

The underwater puzzle is tough. You need to fight a current, which wants to suck you into walls of spikes on both sides of the room.  Fight the current to get over near the wall, and thus throw a switch. Swim out along the wall and then cross the room and do the same on the opposite side. Now you can claim one Ganesha Key from the area below the entrance. Climb out and head for the gate near the pit in the other room.

The spiked ceiling in this small room is merciless. By sprinting into the room and throwing the switch on the far wall first, you should have just enough time to throw the second switch and step into the hole in the floor which opens for you.

A flare would come in handy.

Pick up the key and head for the keyholes.

Use your three keys and exit by climbing up the block staircase behind you.

Don't fall into the underwater chamber by accident!
