High Security Compound

Jump into the window to break the security beams, which summons the guard. When he arrives, run past him and off the balcony outside.  Wait for the guard to chase you down the stairs, and then hustle back up towards your cell. Hit the switch on the wall beside the cell next door, and the inmate comes out to do battle with the guard. Open up all the cell doors on both sides of the cellblock and notice the one, which was open to begin with.

Purist note: the prisoners are friendly but the guards most certainly are not - Lara's death at the hands of their batons is the most brutal way yet seen of despatching here. Avoid it at all costs!

Go into the cell that was open and jump over the wash basin into the tunnel behind. Push the box to reveal a crawl space and go through it. Push the box you find round the corner - this allows you to push the first box back down the passage, exposing the same crawl space, now on your right. Now you need to pull the second box into the passage where the first one is - use the crawl space as necessary. 

With both boxes in the passage you can go round the back of them into the space where you originally pushed the second box to find Secret #1 - a small medikit. Return through the crawl space into the gap between the two boxes and push the second one back out of the passage. You can now jump and grab the hole in the roof you probably noticed earlier.

Climb into the night air and run along the walkway. Run and jump across the barbed wire pits.

At the end, walk through the barbed wire to reach the switch. Use the ledge on the left to reach the trapdoor ladder. Climb about halfway down and look for a ledge on the left that's the entrance to a corridor. Jump over the first trapdoor you come across in the corridor (climb out if you fall through and continue).

Drop through the trapdoor in the small room and you'll fall into a control centre. There's a switch in the glazed area nearby - hit it quickly as the guard is armed and dangerous! The inmates should arrive to mug him - pick up his security pass, shells and a small medikit when the coast is clear.

Use the pass to open the gates opposite the cellblock entrance. Go through and explore, then open the door down the passage to the left of the dining room entrance. It's a toilet block (the ladies, apparently!) - Just go through and out the opposite door. The room with the large boxes is a straightforward movement puzzle.

Run around the room, pushing the movable box in the lower area beneath the hole in the ceiling near the entrance. Climb up into a little roof space with purple pipes. Jump the pipe and throw the switch on the wall around the corner to flood the previous room.  Swim back through the box room and up through another hole in the opposite corner of the ceiling.

Jump across the hole in the floor (through which you can see the sizzling kitchen grill) to the room with the red floor. Head outside and follow the walkway, wary of barbed wire pits. At the end, drop into the hole and head left to a small yellow room with a switch. Throw the switch to shut off the kitchen grill. Return to the previous room and press the button on the wall to open the nearby door.

Don't go through there, though - climb back to the outer walkway and then go through the room with the red floor to the hole above the kitchen.  Drop down into the kitchen and take the small medikit on the serving ledge. Open the door at the far end.

In the short hallway, open the door around the corner to the right before you open the one on the left. Run (sprint if you like!) through the dining room and along the corridor to the control room. When you arrive in the cellblock, it should be safe to look back and see the inmates pulverising the guard who's been chasing you. Pick up his small medikit and then return and check the room that he came out of. Find the switch that raises the vent above the kitchen grill.

In the kitchen, climb into the vent and carefully walk around the fans, picking up the Save Crystal. Slide down the slope and jump from the end to the crack opposite. Shimmy left and drop, then jump from the sloped surface to the flat area across the pit. Climb up into the crawl space. Crawl through and climb the ladder.

At the top, walk into the passage and another inmate will appear and release a trapdoor in the ceiling. Jump-grab through this trapdoor and climb up to your friend's level. Leave him for now and head down the corridor taking the right turn.

Climb the grating and pick up the small medikit at the top. In the steep green hallway, let the guard pass to the left. Now sprint up, hang a right and hustle across the large area. Don't let the guard see you. Go outside past the crate and turn left.

Follow the open passage and climb down some steep steps to the lower cell. When you open the cell door, the inmate hustles up the corridor.  Follow him. Up above, you'll see that the inmate has taken care of business. Pick up the security pass and use it on the nearby door. 

Grab the large medikit and Uzi ammo and press the button in here to switch off nearby laser traps. Go outside again and head to the right (see those roof mounted guns?). Follow the large passage until you reach a hole. Climb down the ladder and continue into another large open area.

Get the guard's attention, and then run left down the hallway. Open the cell in the corridor (the other door connects with the previous cellblock) and take the key that the guard drops when he meets his maker. It fits in the lock near the heavy weaponry at the far end of the open area (don't worry if you set the missile launcher going - it doesn't seem to hurt).

Go through the security door into the Stealth Fighter hangar and take the corridor to the left - carefully!

When you see the guard below, crouch down and go through the crawl space. Keep crawling past the windows and safety drop into the lower passage. Crawl over to the switch. The guard is armed.

Hit the switch when the guard is on your left. (As you face the switch)

Jump the red laser beam to enter the hallway (with practice, you can time throwing the switch to get the laser to kill the guard - throw it when he's on your right and just turning around...). 

Follow the hall to the large chamber. Safety drop to the metal platform.

From the metal platform with the spiral staircase and go right (to the end of the platform). Check your health and turn to face the central column. Jump backwards and grab then safety drop to the floor. A long way down...

Go around the platform and climb up the ladder on the opposite side of the room from where you landed and go up the slope. In the corridor ignore the guard on the left who has his back turned to you.

 

Head round to the right and get the security pass (which closes the door on the fan in the water) from the green crawlspace at the end.  Return the way you came.

Go around the big room again and head down the reddish corridor, climbing down the ladder at the end.  Push the button to open the door on the left but DO NOT go through.  To the right is a control room with a big glass window - put the security pass in the lock here and climb the nearby ladder into the dark. Walk to the edge of the water filled pit and look down. Safety drop to the small platform below.

Jump in the water and take the Save Crystal as you swim down the tunnel in the centre. Swim the long tunnel, picking up flares along the way and use the lever to open the door at the end. Pick up a small medikit and be careful not to surface in the path of the yellow laser beams.  Climb out and jump the beams to the ledge. Drop into the next water filled passage, swim through and go left when you surface.

Crawl into the cargo area and immediately climb the boxes on the left. Pistols, a large medikit and the Desert Eagle await you in the small room, which opens with a button across the floor on the other side of the boxes. When you exit this room, avoid the laser beams by hugging the wall. If you do set the automatic guns off jump back into the passage and they'll reset when you're out of sight.

Climb the boxes back to the cargo area.

Time for the big backtrack.

Go into the crawlspace and swim back to the pool with the yellow laser beams, jump them and swim down the long passage back to the darker pool. Get some air and look in the corners of the room until you spy another underwater passageway.

Swim through it, picking up a small medikit along the way.

Check your weapons and crawl through the dark crawl space to the next room. You'll surprise a guard, who becomes your first kill in a long while...  Exit the room (if the exit door is closed - whoops, you should have opened it earlier! Return to the water filled tank and climb the ledges around the edge to the green corridor, where there's a switch, then return back to the water and go back to the corner underwater passage) and climb the ladder back to the large room with the central column.

Go around the column, climb the ladder and go up the slope and this time take out the guard who had his back turned on you earlier.  Take the grenades and security pass he drops and open the door at the far end of the corridor. In the short hallway, pick up the Grenade Launcher. Secret#2.

Time to backtrack once more, all the way to the cargo room.

Head up the wide slope, ready for armed resistance.  Pick up the blue security pass and grenades from the pile of bodies when it's safe and head out into the open - beware of the dog coming up behind you! Pick up a large medikit from the room near the gates and then return to the top of the wide slope and take the ladder upstairs.

Use the blue passkey and take out the guard inside. The button on the right is the one you want in order to move a box down the conveyor. The other lets a guard and a dog into the open area through the gates (more target practice!).  At the bottom of the wide slope, head right and use the box to climb to the upper ledge.

Monkey-swing over to the ledge on the opposite side of the room and pick up a small medikit. Monkey swing back to the middle and head left, taking care near the swinging crane hook. Drop off the monkey swing to the stairs and climb up to the level above. 

Kill the guard and take his security pass. Jump over the laser trap on the way to collect the Save Crystal and then return and monkey swing back to where you started and drop to ground level.

Open the final locked gates opposite (into Bay X) and head up the slope to the loading bay. There's an MP outside and another in the loading bay itself.

When the coast is clear, rummage around at the top of the pile of boxes for a small medikit and find the moveable box in the far right corner, which hides an alcove with Uzi clips and grenades.

When you've finished, climb in the back of the truck and have a well-deserved drink and a rest.
