Burial Chambers

Sliding down the ramp:

As you slide down the ramp, do a bunch of standing jump grabs to try and catch the overhead ledge above the ramp. Climb up and find Secret #1. Pickup a large medi-pack and continue your trip down the ramp.

Room with two statues and lever:

Slide down the ramp into the room. Push the lever to open the door.

Slide into the bowl.

Round room with clock ticking:  Pick up the Hand of Orion. The turn and do a simple jump to the left side.

Look back and notice some nasty gold spikes where you just were.  Slide down the short ramp. Secret #2! Pick up red shotgun shells and the gate opens. Continue through the next hall of statues and come to another suspicious looking circle with nasty looking spike holes. Walk near the spike holes and time your jump to avoid impaling poor Lara. Turn the corner and shoot the two vases on the ledges. Pick up a small medi-pack.  Continue down the hall and jump over another ring of spikes. Slide down a ramp. Place the Hand of Orion in the receptacle to withdraw the spikes, but unfortunately starts up some mean looking rotating blades.

Rotating blades:

Drop to the floor and pick up a small medi-pack. The trick is to follow the blades in the direction of rotation and use a lot of medi-packs.  From the entrance, line up a sideways jump. Then do a simple jump to the pillar. Pick up the shotgun (actually more shotgun ammo). Do one more jump to the platform near the exit and jump to the exit.  To pick up the red shot gun shells, start from the exit and follow the blades in the direction of rotation. Jump to the platform, run following the blades and pick up the shotgun shells. Much easier said then done, you may want to just skip the shells.. You will need to repeat the trip from the entrance to the exit.

OR

My solution to the room with the rotating blades was to step back 2 steps from the doorway and jump and grab to the platform before the blades could swing by.  Then I decided to skip the shells and the gun which I already had.  I just used Lara's new handy dandy "'round the corner" ledge shimmy trick, I shimmied all the way around without having to do the old "stand, turn, drop and grab" trick.  When I got to the exit doorway I just watched the timing of the blades and then stood and back-flipped into the exit.

OR

Rotating Blades: Walk to edge, forward jump, left jump, forward jump, left jump.  Zero medi-packs.

After you are done with the rotating blade room, go up the hall and enter the room with coffin.

Room with the Ankh on the sarcophagus (coffin) Investigate the dark corners near the coffin to find a small medi-pack and red shotgun shells.

Don't go near the coffin yet.

Mummy room with statue in centre and 4 pits:

Pick up the small medi-pack, and jump down into the pit in the far left corner. Look around for an opening. Enter - Secret #3! Pick up a small medi-pack and red shotgun shells.  (If the blood is flowing, you cannot get the secret. Return to the room with the Ankh on top of the sarcophagus.

Room with the Ankh on the sarcophagus (coffin) Walk around the sarcophagus near the feet. Lara will then climb up and pick up the Ankh called the Amulet of Horus. Return to the room with the statue in the centre and the 4 pits.

Mummy room with statue in centre and 4 pits:

My how things have changed. All of the mummy cases are now open.

Approaching either mummy will trigger it, so stay away from them.  Stumped? Get the closest 8 year old to help you out. If you don't have an 8 year old handy, notice that the statue is on top of a symbol on the floor and notice another symbol on the floor nearby. Yup, you need to move the statue from the centre to the symbol near the wall. This opens a door behind one of the mummies. Many people are confused where to move the statue. You cannot pull in from the square in front of the mummy case, so follow the path shown in the picture.  Trigger the mummy to lure him out and go through the opening in the mummy case.  (You can't kill the mummies.) If you have problems moving the statue, remember that the square by the mummy door cannot be used for pushing and pulling.

Large Cave:

Enter the cave and scare up two dogs. To conserve flares, first explore the cave using flares to your heart's content to figure the cave out. Then load a previous saved game and only use the flares you need to find the items you located on your first exploration. The cave is in the shape of a U with the ornate building with sand pit at the bottom of the U.  From the entrance to the cave, follow the left wall around the centre of the U and climb up the hill. On your way up the hill, find the deep pit on the right wall and climb down to pick up the Secret #4 (a large medi-pack.)

Large Cave: top of hill with fancy wall:

Go to the top of the hill and climb up the fancy wall. Shoot the vases and pick up the red shotgun shells and a small medi-pack save your game. In the room with the object on the pedestal, first look around the room carefully. Now pick up the Golden Serpent on the pedestal to awaken the sleeping mummies. Run to the hole in the wall and climb up before the mummies can hurt you. From one death trap to the next, congratulations you have entered a sand pit that is filling to a ceiling studded with spikes!

Slide down the ramp, immediately, turn and dash to the far left corner of the pit to find the safe corner as the spikes descend around you. Climb out of the pit, and carefully WALK down the cave. Leap across the deep pit to pick up the Large Medi-pack.

Lower yourself down to the ledge in the pit, then drop down to the floor of the Large Cave.

Large Cave: Building across the wood bridge:

Make your way up the hill and cross the wooden bridge. Shoot the two dogs and climb up the stairs.

Room of Spikes:

Take a long running jump to the ledge on the left wall. (Hint, take 1 walking step away from the left tunnel wall, turns and does the long running jump.) To get to the higher ledge with the shotgun shells. you need to do a diagonal long running jump. Line up a long running jump in the corner of the block farthest from the ledge. Secret #5! Land and pick up the red shot gun shells.

Slide down to the floor and then climb up the blocks. Jump your way across the blocks to the high block in the centre of the room. Use a jump and grab to the climbing area on the overhead block. Climb up to the top and pull the lever which opens the barred door at the bottom of the room. Make your way back the way you came, enter the doorway at the bottom and pull the lever to ROTATE THE BUILDING!

Slide down to the bottom, and lower yourself down the hole and pick up the Hand of Sirius.

Room of Spikes Rotated:

Climb out of the hole, and then go down the hallway and climb up the ladder. The Egyptian engineering is amazing to rotate an entire building.

Jump across the blocks to get up to the block near the ceiling spikes. Use a standing jump grab to the higher block under the spikes. Crawl under the spikes. Walk to the edge of the block near the lower ledge in the slanted wall. Take one walking step back and then do a simple jump to the lower ledge in the slanted block. Find the climbing ladder in the tunnel. The climbing ladder is wrong side of the wall.  Face the climbing ladder and take one or two walking steps back from the edge of the hole and do a standing jump grab to jump across the hole and grab the climbing ladder.

Mummy Room:

Yikes, mummies on the floor - not a good sign. So be sure to check out your escape route. Pull the jewelled chain to open the escape door and rotate the building one more time. A cut scene shows a goodie high up in the rotated room. Climb back up the ladder.

Room of Spikes back to the original position:

The room looks the same as when you started. Remember the receptacle? Jump to the next ledge on the same slanted wall. Climb up and place the Hand of Sirius in the receptacle. This lowers a rope from the ceiling.  Take a long running jump grab to the rope. Rotate lower on the rope using the arrow keys to line up with the high ledge at the end of the room.

 Swing using the dash key. At the top of Lara's swing, hit the Jump button to leap off of the end of the rope. Pick up the Scarab Talisman. Slip past the pedestal and follow the hallway.

Is it deer hunting season? Two hounds sporting deer horns run up the hallway. Enter an ornate room and blast another puppy. And you find yourself back in the cave? Go to the ornate building with the sand pit.

Ornate building with sand pit Look carefully on the walls of the sand pit, and you will find a receptacle for the Scarab Talisman and a receptacle for the Golden Serpent. This starts filling the pit with sand and wakens up the mummy.

Run around the mummy in a circle to keep it occupied. Climb out of the pit and follow the cave to the light.

Movie

Lara climbs out of the cave and pauses at the entrance to the tomb and looks around. Seeing that the coast is clear, she throws down her backpack and pulls out the Amulet of Horus and begins to read.....  Lara reads:" I, Semerkhet, high priest of Horus, forewarned that he who removes the amulet shall have released Set. He who walked abroad with the jackal at the dawn of man shall once again violate the earth." Horus, in gold and red Armour, stands with arms crossed as a coffin is prepared by the priests. Set in blue and gold Armour, kneels before Horus as the eye of Horus glimmers. A green switch is thrown and the coffin lid is raised. Set lies down into the coffin as Horus stands above Set performing rituals. Another switch is pressed and electricity crackles as Set's body is lowered into the coffin filled with spikes below as the coffin lid with spikes above descends onto Set's body. Bloods runs from the jackal spigots and then turn to sand.

Lara reads:" Set, ruler of evil, will again be free at the turn of the distant millennia. At his heel, plagues and locusts. Harvests fail under the broken skies."

Meanwhile, Lara's guide has returned and cocks his gun and points it at Lara, "The amulet, woman!"

Lara continues to read from the amulet, "Once called forth shall the heavens split asunder and the light of the Sun God Horus shall banish the lord of darkness, Set."

As Lara finishes reading, a loud thunderclap followed by an explosion and knocks the guide to the ground. The guide reaches for his gun, as Lara stands above him with both pistols drawn. Lara says," I wouldn't advise it." A jeep pulls up and toots its horn. A black swirling cloud ends the movie.
