Level 14

Alexandria

Train Station:

Look beyond the fence at the train. Run down the hall with the movie posters and shoot the scorpion coming from the dark corner. Look in the dark corner for a small medi-pack. Walk out into the courtyard and a thug dressed in white runs away. Follow him and enter a room with crates.

Todd's hall of crates:

Notice the red letters, Todds. Follow the guy in white to the back room. You may want the shotgun to take him out. Nothing much here.

Return to the courtyard.

Building with door between the train station and Todds hall of crates (library):

Use the Action key to open the door. Enter and shoot the man in white. Note the door in the library.

Building with door and staircase:

Go up the stairs and find Jean Yves.

Jean: Lara! You are alive! I feared for you. What's...

Lara: Von Croy has the amulet.

Jean: Ahh, this is bad. But he doesn't yet have the Armour; there is still time to prepare for Set.

Lara: Jean, I am tired. Give a girl a break.

Jean: My dear, when all this is over, you can retire. But now, we

Must move swiftly. My men dive into the bay for remnants of Cleopatra's

Lost Palaces.

Lara: Cleopatra?

Jean: Yes.  She realised the armour's significance and had it brought here. Some was subsequently scattered. But...  Lara: And where would you recommend I start looking?

Jean: In the Catacombs under Alexandria, my diggers have unearthed chambers connected to the Great Library. This would hold the true location of Cleopatra's palaces. But we have yet to find a way in.

Lara: Take me there.

Jean: But there is a problem...

Lara: Von Croy!

Jean: Yes, his dig is expanding, crossing over many of my own tunnels.

Of course, my men no longer work when Von Croy's thugs appeared on the scene.

Lara: Time to introduce myself to Werner's loyal work force.

Jean: First you must get into the Catacombs. Van Croy has them completely sealed up. And I fear he will soon have the Armour.

Lara: Over my dead body.

Jean: This I fear also. I shall wait here for news. Return if you feel I can help in any way. Good Luck, Lara. I fear that you may need it.

Lara: I make my own luck.

Jean has left some presents for Lara. Run over to the chest near the stairs and pick up the laser sight, red shotgun shells and normal crossbow ammo. Look in on of the corners by the bookshelves to find red shotgun shells. Go out on to the balcony and go to the left. Two thugs are on the roof of the other building. Kill them. (I did a long running jump over to them.) Pick up the Uzi clips.

From the high ledge near the library building. Look for the high switch on the wall of the library. Take a long running jump with grab to the roof of the library building. Shimmy right around the corner and position yourself above the switch. Now let go of the Action key and quickly press it again.

Lara will pull the switch. This opens the door in the library. Enter the library and find the open door. Secret #1. Pick up 2 sets of crossbow ammo and a large medi-pack.

Alley by motorcycle:

Go down the alley next to Jean's building. There is the motorcycle all locked up. Pick up some red shotgun shells.

Alley near Todd's place:

Find Todd's place of crates and continue down the alley keeping a wall on Lara's left side. Enter a room and shoot another thug. Pick up a small medi-pack. Continue down the hall until you come to another courtyard with palm trees.

Go to Coastal Ruins

Secrets: 1 (Total: 44 out of 70)

THIS IS WHERE IT GETS A LITTLE COMPLICATED AS YOU HAVE TO GO BETWEEN LEVELS AND BACK AGAIN TO COMPLETE THE GAME.

Movie before finding Coastal Ruins:

You can see the movie, if Lara visits Jean Yves before finding the Coastal Ruins.

Lara enters Jean Yves's office.

Jean: "More information? Oui?

I believe some of the Armour could be here in the town.  A local collector had a small exhibition and was rumoured to have a piece.  It is hard to say if this is true. The man was a fool. A while back he vanished leaving the exhibition boarded up. If Von Croy has not got to it, perhaps, this would be the place to begin."

Movie after finding the Coastal Ruins:

You can see the movie, if Lara visits Jean Yves before finding the Coastal Ruins.

Lara enters Jean Yves's office. He is reading at the small desk.  Lara approaches and lays a hand on his shoulder to let him know she is here.

Jean: "Greetings Lara.

Remember, somewhere in the library will be the means to guide you to the location of Cleopatra’s Palaces. Von Croy will not know you have found the library yet. But I have heard, through connections that he has hired new local help and is doubly searching for another way in. But I fear. That we must move quickly - if we are to stay ahead.  Remember the Great Library was very much like a university to ancient Alexandria. It will full of knowledge, puzzles and inventions. You will need Quick wits to get through. Good luck, old friend."

Movie after finding the Temple of Poseidon:

You can see the movie, if Lara visits Jean Yves after finding the Temple of Poseidon. Lara enters the office. Jean Yves is standing by the bookcase.  Jean: "Lara, I have been doing some reading and it is highly probable the some of the Armour is hidden down in the Catacombs themselves.  But you must take care. Word of Von Croy's men fleeing from the tunnels has reached me. Set's apparitions have been moving into the city and gathering at ancient sites. You must hurry and find the library.
