Menkaures Pyramid
The Cave:
Look around the cave and find two sets of Uzi clips on the right and left of the cave. There are some block you need to climb, but how do you climb them? Stand near the left wall of the cave near the triangular sloped block. Now stand about one block's away from the higher block, then do a standing jump with grab. Climb up to the top underneath the trap door with a switch. With your back to the wall, stand under the switch and keep using Jump with Grab until you pull the switch down to open the door.
Save your game.
Face the now open door and walk to the edge of the ledge and do a jump grab to climb out of the cave.
Lara is attacked by an elephant size scorpion. Another scorpion is waiting around the corner attacking one of Lara's friends. To save Lara's friend, I used the shotgun and ran toward the second scorpion while shooting the first. Try not to target your friend and kill the scorpions before the scorpions kill you or your buddy. Once the area is cleared, go down the path opposite of the trap door and find a large medi-pack.
To get across the deep pit, take a long running jump from near the right wall, while in the air; use the arrow keys to curve your jump to land on a ledge on the right side of the pit. After the pit, follow the path and kill another scorpion. For the next pit, take a long running jump with grab to the closest ledge.
Base of the pyramid:
A scorpion and a wasp await your arrival at the base of the pyramid.
The deep pit south-east of the pyramid:
On the right of the pit is a slanted ledge on the right side where the ledge faces away from the pyramid. Take a long running jump with grab to the slanted ledge, slide down the ramp and then take a simple jump from the slanted ledge to the flat ledge on the right side of the pit.
Dark building:
You must save the guy or you will not get the Armoury Key which is needed for a secret in another level. Shoot the wasp and then save your game before you enter the dark building. Enter the building and a scorpion has one of your friends in its claws. To see the movie carefully shoot the scorpion (use something powerful, like your pistol for quick result) before it kills your buddy. Do not kill the guy in the scorpion's claws or you will miss the movie.
Movie (kill the scorpion and the guy lives):
Lara finishes shooting the scorpion and saves the man from his death... "Allah be praised. For a moment there, I though I was dead for sure. Please for your own safety, take these keys and hide in the pyramid of Menkaures. Save yourself from these abominations." After the movie, look in your inventory and you will find the Guard Keys and the Armoury Key (needed for a secret at a later level).Then pick up two small medi-packs, red and blue shotgun shells in the corner of the scorpion ravaged building.
No Movie (the guy dies):
If you shoot the guy, you will end up with an extra small medi-pack. After killing the guy, pick up the Guards Keys. You will not get the Armoury Key which you need for a secret later in the game (not this level). Then pick up two small medi-packs, red and blue shotgun shells in the corner of the scorpion ravaged building.
Getting across the pit:
Jump grab to the rock ledge, then shimmy around the corner and continue shimmying to the left until you can go no further. Drop down and be ready to climb the pyramid.
Tips for climbing:
Look for the small triangle form between ledges on which you slide and ledges on which you stand. When making jumps, don't stand right next to a slanted ledge because it will ruin the jump, you need to walk up the ledge then take one step back, then do your normal back-hop before you jump. Also the flat ledges look like sand.
Left side of pyramid:
Climb up using the white arrows as a guide. There are three or four wasps to kill on the way.
From bottom right-hand corner, jump up one level, then diagonally up one level, go to the other end of flat piece.Do a long running jump to light coloured stone which makes slide down to the bottom level, go to the other end of the flat piece.
Climb five levels straight up.
When you get on the same level as the door take a long running jump to the next flat stone.
To get the secret, from the door go down one level, take a long jump away from the door, then go three levels up.
When you are on the same level as the secret a standing jump will get you to a small health pack before you turn around and go for the secret.
Getting the Secret:
Follow the white arrows to get to the top of the high pillars near the doors. Pick up the small medi-pack, then save your game. Now take a long running jump to the revolver. Save your game before picking up the revolver. Pick up the revolver (more ammo) for Secret #1. Hordes of scarab beetles emerge after you pick up the revolver.
Now this is where you have a choice, you can either drop to the door and unlock it (topping yourself up with health packs as needed) and run down the hill to finish the level. (There won't be any scarab beetles eating you at the start of the next level).
OR
Slide down the pyramid and head for the deep pit near the dark building (south-east of the pyramid) as the beetles chase you, jump over the pit as you did last time and by the time you get across to the other side all the beetles have now gone.
Repeat the climb up the pyramid to the door. Use the Guard Keys to open the door. Slide down the ramp.
