Rome

Colosseum

Cave:

Explore the cave and in the second area with skeletons, look on the left wall for a block with a pull ring on it. Using the Action key, push the block in as far as it will go. Enter the small room and pick up Secret #1 - a gold rose. Continue down the cave until you reach corridor between the buildings.

Corridor between the buildings:

As you walk down the corridor, an earthquake occurs, collapsing the walkway and sending Lara to a fiery death. To avoid dying, during the cut scene, hold down the up arrow, run to the grey tile. At the grey tile, add the jump key to land safely on the other side. Look back into the corridor filled with lava and spot a small crawlspace on the right. Do a safety drop over the edge and shimmy to the crawl space. Climb up into the crawl space. Rotate Lara's backside towards the other side of the crawl space, use the Action key and down arrow to drop into the small cave. Push the button to open the green door in the room with the floor grates. 

Room with floor grate:

Look through the floor grates to see the source of those growls - a lion. Go through the now opened door and drop down the ramps.

Lion Cages:

You have just dropped into a lion's cage.  Three good shotgun blasts will do the job.

OR

Do back and forth or sideways flips while shooting the lion.

Be a fool, and push the button to open the door to another lion's cage releasing yet one more lion. The skeletons littering the cages indicate the lions have been eating well, a sad ending for Roman political prisoners and Christians. Climb up the ladder all the way to the top. 

Room with torches:

Pick up the Gemstone Piece from the pedestal between the torches. Walk into the entrance to the next room to trigger a gladiator. Then leap backwards over the hole in the floor and shoot. After the gladiator is dead, enter the next area.

Gladiator area:

Look to the left and find a small medi-pack in the cage, which held the gladiator. Go up the ramp and kill another gladiator. Press the button to open another cage and pick up some Uzi clips. Before going out to the large cave, go up the last ramp and immediately turn right behind the pillar to get a better shot, then kill another lion and a gladiator. Explore the back cage to find the Uzis and a large medi-pack.

Large cave:

Explore the high platform and notice the contraption in the centre. Do a safety drop down from the high walkway between the gladiator cave and the high platform to the lower walkway below. Go up to the platform with a pull rope and save your game.

Oh great, a timed run to reach the pedestal and grab the Gemstone piece before it descends. To start the run, with your back to the centre platform, pull the pull rope down 3 times to raise the pedestal at the centre of the high platform. 

Hop back from the rope, roll as you touch the ground and start running towards the right corner of the walkway under the main platform. At the corner, add the jump key to make a long running jump over to the other low platform, at the end of this jump again to the raised walkway.

Keep running and add the Jump key to jump across the gap and grab onto the higher platform. On the highest platform, run and turn to face the centre platform. Take a long running jump with grab to the centre platform and pick up the Gemstone Piece before it drops back down in the platform.

If you don't succeed, you will have to try over and over again.

On the high platform, run towards the locked door, and it will raise up.  Once you enter the narrow hall, the other gate will close. A trick trap door and Lara starts falling.

Cut scene: Lara slides down and saves herself before falling into a deep pit. Pierre tries for the Gemstone, but instead falls into the deep pit. Lara: "Busy girl, got to go."

Ledge above the deep pit:

After the cut scene explore the open gate on the other side of the pit (not the Gemstone room). To get there do a safety drop over the edge of the pit and shimmy to the right. Climb up and enter the large cave. Climb up the high centre platform with the Gemstone pedestal and make your way to the gate where Lara had dropped down to the pit. Take a long running jump with grab over the hole to the open gate. Pick up Secret #2 - a gold rose. 

 

Drop down the hole and slide back down to the deep pit. Take a simple jump to the right and land on the ledge near the Gemstone Room.

Gemstone Room:

From the ledge above the deep pit, enter the nearby room, combine the Gemstone Pieces, and place it in the receptacle on the wall. This triggers an earthquake and the floor begins disintegrating around you.

As soon as you get control back, get Lara running TOWARDS the Gemstone and as the floor drops away add the GRAB key and Lara will drop onto the ledge underneath.

OR

Do a roll, start running and add the Jump key to avoid the centre floor tile. Land safely on a short ledge. Line up a long running jump with grab to the lower cave.

Look back at the pit walls and notice a crevice running along the right wall. Drop over the edge and shimmy to the left making your way across the pit and drop safely on the other side. Enter the room and climb up on the low block. Face the pit and do a jump grab and climb out of the hole.

Colosseum:

A gladiator and a lion are guarding this room. Get your shotgun out and kill them quick. Look on the floor for the Colosseum Key left behind by the gladiator. (You might have to light a flare to find it)

Hammer Man:

Use the Colosseum key in the key lock to one side of the large double doors. The Hammer Man is back, but a bit slower and not quite as deadly. Simply leap back while shooting the Hammer Man. Leap back through the rooms until the Hammer Man gets near, then run around him. Keep leaping backwards through the rooms while shooting him.

Do not get too near him as his hammer blows can kill you. After he is dead, enter the opening between the two statues. Pick up another Colosseum Key. Use the key in the lock by the large double doors in the Hammer Man room. Slide down the ramp.

Ledge with the jewel:

Land on the ledge with the sparkling jewel. Before playing with the interesting jewel on the wall, take a long running jump to the nearby ledge and see a small ledge in the mist. Take a long running jump with grab to the ledge and enter a crawlspace to find Secret #3. Return to the ledge with the jewel and use the crowbar to pry out the Philosopher's Stone.
