TUITION AVAILABLE

Learner to the DSA driving test.

The lessons are usually for one hour at the start, but when pupils begin to get more confident I expand the lesson time up to two hours and by then we probably need to go further afield to get a better range of hazards for the pupil to encounter to gain more experience..

Motorway.

After the pupils have passed their Driving Test, some pupils want to have first hand experience of a motorway.  This is usually done over one or two, two hour lessons giving us enough time to do a reasonable amount of driving.

Pass Plus.

Run by the DSA and some Driving Instructors.  This is a course of six hours (minimum) of lessons to be taken after the pupil has passed their driving test to further expand their knowledge.  This would include night driving, adverse weather and motorway tuition, so improving their driving skills and help reduce the risk of a collision occurring.  This is recognised by some Insurance Companies and in return are given reduced insurance premiums.

Advanced.

To either I.A.M. or RoSPA  test standard.

This depends on your present driving skill, how quick you want to take the test and how much time you want to spend getting prepared. Both groups use the book "Roadcraft, The police drivers handbook." This is a great book as it really explains the principles and techniques in plain language with good graphics.  The test itself usually lasts at least an hour and the examiner is normally is a serving Traffic Police Officer who holds a  Grade One Driving certificate.

Disabled.

Registered with Banstead Mobility Centre as a trained instructor.  Tuition can be in either the manual or automatic car depending on the disability or even in the pupils own car if they need a special adaptation.  I have some adaptations fitted to my automatic car.

Assessment or Refresher.

Assessment or refresher courses are available on request.  This could be done before an Intensive session on build up to a driving test.

Intensive. (If diary space allows!)

The duration and intensity of the course depends on the pupils requirements, my diary and the availability of driving tests. Normally courses would have a test prearranged for say, a Friday afternoon.  So the course would start on the Monday morning prior to the Friday giving thirty hours of Driving Instruction, or it could half days over a fortnight or even two hours a day over three weeks.

Theory.

This can be done either on paper as the test is now, with mock test papers or as from the 4 January 2000 on computer with a program that looks and feels the same as the new test, but without the touch screen facility.
